ImageWare Systems was awarded a $1.2 million contract from an undisclosed federal agency to develop a multibiometric identity management prototype solution. ImageWare will develop a software solution for mobile biometric identity management supporting prototype devices that include multimodal biometric capabilities and are ruggedized for mission-critical objectives. The devices will be capable of providing identity verification using finger, face, and iris biometrics. Under the terms of the contract, the project will be implemented in four phases over a nine-month period. In addition to the development of the prototype solution, ImageWare will also offer a full range of program management, professional services, and training to support handheld mobile biometric acquisition devices and various wireless satellite communication methods.
