RFI and Zinwave Sign Distribution Agreement for the Oceania Region (9/24/13)

Zinwave signed an exclusive distribution agreement with RFI, a distributor of wireless infrastructure products.

The partnership is driven by demand in the Australian markets for Zinwave’s distributed antenna system (DAS), which provides enhanced coverage of smart devices for voice and data services. New construction projects are requiring the deployment of infrastructure to accommodate consumer-driven demands and the need for mission-critical voice and data coverage that provides mobility and access to mobile operator networks is becoming an essential service.

The RFI/Zinwave system is an active system that is deployed using a fiber infrastructure that enables the property developer to provide spare fibers in its communications backbone system, providing the core infrastructure. In addition, RF-over-fiber capability also enables the majority of deployments to be performed by the on-site contractors, who have an understanding of fiber installations.

The solution offers a simplistic architecture (less components) and works on any service UHF, 2G, 3G and Long Term Evolution (LTE), as well as any protocol, any modulation and at any frequency. It provides the infrastructure for any mobile operator in Australia to connect and can also include public-safety coverage, Wi-Fi, and essential in-building communication services over a single system.

“The Pacific features some of the fastest growing markets in the world and we have seen a huge demand for in-building wireless solutions,” said Nigel Healey, marketing manager of RFI. “Working alongside Zinwave we are able to expand our combined offering and present our customers with the most cost effective multiservice, multioperator DAS solution on the market. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
