Motorola Solutions offered its intelligent communications as a service to Caribbean police at an industry conference in Aruba.

The service model gives public-safety and emergency response agencies access to public-safety mobile applications as a recurrent subscription for easy deployment so they can respond more efficiently to the needs of the community. It will also allow agencies to start the service promptly without the need for an initial capital investment on servers and data centers and with the assurance of periodic software updates, keeping the service always up to date, a statement said.

In addition, Motorola Solutions Foundation awarded 10 new scholarships as part of its Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP)-Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund, making a total of more than 70 scholarships granted since its inception. The scholarships provide Caribbean children with resources to continue their college or university studies in the targeted fields of study include engineering, communications, marketing, finance, industrial engineering, human resource management, criminology and forensic science. These disciplines are essential for the proper functioning of the day-to-day operations of police organizations and communities in general.

The ACCP and Motorola Solutions Foundation have worked together to assist the police in each of the member countries in the promotion and support of youth and community development programs.

The winners will be able to continue their education at certified colleges or universities, either in the Caribbean or at colleges or universities that are associated with the member countries. This includes universities/colleges in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and the Netherlands.
