German Video Firm Joins TCCA

German video technology firm Smart Mobile Labs (SML) joined TCCA. Headquartered in Munich, SML targets the global market for live video streaming, with a dedicated application for the public-safety sector with security-relevant transmissions.

As a proof of concept, SML collaborated with mobile operator EE and Nokia to implement an incident-reporting solution for the streaming of critical situations in the U.K.’s Wembley Stadium in London for the Football Association. The SML app transmitted video streams between the stewards and the command center in less than 1 millisecond (ms).

“With video playing an increasingly important part in giving first responders and other critical users full situational awareness of major planned and unplanned events and incidents, we are very pleased to be part of the TCCA community, and to help facilitate awareness of the capabilities of our technology for critical communications,” said SML CEO Andreas Westhoff.
