GWTCA Joins LMCC

The Government Wireless Technology & Communications Association (GWTCA) joined the Land Mobile Communications Council (LMCC).

LMCC is a non-profit association of organizations that represent the wireless communications interests of public safety, critical infrastructure, business, industrial, transportation, private and common carriers, and manufacturers of wireless communications equipment. Most of LMCC’s 17 members are frequency advisory committees (FACs), but GWTCA is not an FAC.

LMCC Secretary/Treasurer Mark Crosby said the association’s bylaws do not require members to be FACs, but they must represent the interests of LMR licensees or equipment manufacturers. Numerous GWTCA members have participated in LMCC efforts through the years, and formally joining the organization will enable greater input and better representation for GWTCA members, the group said in a statement.

“GWTCA is excited to become a member of LMCC,” said GWTCA President Andrew Maxymillian. “Bringing GWTCA’s unique voice to such an important organization will bring tremendous benefits to our members and strengthens LMCC’s voice in front of the FCC. We’re excited to get to work.”
