Verizon made a $10,000 investment to the First Responders Foundation to help expand and grow the foundation, which partners with police and fire departments to serve and honor first responders and their families, build appreciation and respect for their work, and enhance public safety.

The First Responder Foundation, based in Omaha, Nebraska, has provided support to police and fire departments by helping provide tools to help them save lives. Recognizing the stress and trauma associated with being a first responder, the foundation is expanding its services to include programs that focus on mental, emotional and physical health.

“The First Responder Foundation has been active in the greater Omaha area for a decade,” said Mike Maiorana, senior vice president, public sector, Verizon. “We are committed to the first responder community and look forward to helping First Responder Foundation grow and support more of our brave first responders.

Verizon also partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s First Responder Outreach. Through Feb. 8, each time someone shares its website or shares Verizon’s social posts using #AllOurThanks on Twitter or Facebook, the carrier will donate $1 to First Responder Outreach, up to $1.5 million.
