Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm, announced the acquisition of Mobile Communications America (MCA), a mobile communications company and one of Motorola Solutions' largest channel partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina, MCA is a provider of communications and network solutions and services for public-safety and other mission-critical communications customers.

"MCA's success is built on key relationships fostered by an established culture of service-first, engagement, collaboration and trust which is written in our DNA," said Vince Foody, MCA's CEO. "We look forward to partnering with Sentinel and leveraging its experience to help us grow."

Sentinel purchased MCA from WJ Partners, a South Carolina-based private investment firm. Since being acquired by WJ Partners in 2013, MCA has completed 16 add-on acquisitions and grown from a small business with 75 employees across four service locations into a leading provider of communications solutions and services.

Executive Chairman Mark Blackman and Foody will continue to lead the company.
