Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil (IMBEL) and Freedom Communication Technologies entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under which IMBEL will use customized Freedom R8100 and R8600 communications system analyzers to test IMBEL tactical radios and promote the customized solution.

Under the terms of the MOU, IMBEL will procure and customize FREEDOM R8100, R8600 and R9000 analyzers to perform RF and audio tests on IMBEL radios. The R8100 will be used for research and development (R&D), level one testing, and the R8600 radio test hub will be used for manufacturing and levels two and three testing.

The companies also agreed to promote the customized offering via mutual demonstration of Freedom analyzers testing IMBEL TPP-1400 and TRC-1193B radios at industry exhibitions.

“IMBEL conducted a rigorous evaluation and concluded that Freedom products were the best choice for their demanding applications,” said Freedom CEO Ricardo Viloria. “We are thrilled to be chosen as a partner by such a widely respected industry leader as IMBEL.”

IMBEL has been a leading supplier to the Brazilian military since 1934. The company has more than 800 employees and provides a wide range of high technology products to support the needs of the Brazilian defense industry.

“After evaluating all the alternatives, we concluded that Freedom was best able to meet our needs and the needs of our important military clients,” said Maj. Luiz Renault Leite Rodrigues. “We look forward to working with them in the weeks and months ahead.”
