FCC Reports Finds PSAPs Holding Up Well During Dorian

A Sept. 4 report from the FCC, reported no public-safety answering points (PSAPs) were down in the U.S. area affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Two PSAPs — the Atlantic Beach Police Department and Neptune Beach Police Department — have been evacuated, and their calls have been re-routed to their backup PSAPs with location information.

Only 13 cell sites out of 9,711 reported in the affected counties were down as of Sept. 4.
