Friday, December 06, 2019 | Comments

The effective date of the rules adopted in the Kari’s Law Act of 2017 and Section 506 of RAY BAUM’S Act is Jan. 6.

The commission adopted the order in August. Kari’s Law adopted rules requiring direct dialing and central notification for 9-1-1 calls from multiline telephone systems (MLTS). Under Section 506 of RAY BAUM’s Act, the commission adopted dispatchable location requirements for MLTS, fixed telephony, interconnected VoIP services, internet-based telecommunications relay services (TRS) and mobile text service. The public notice is here.
