The city of Oakland, California, selected Federal Engineering to assist it with an upgrade of its CAD and records management system (RMS).

“We are thrilled that Oakland has selected us for these important projects and we look forward to assisting the city of Oakland in the upgrade of the city’s CAD and RMS systems,” said Federal Engineering Director Don Nagle. “FE will work closely with city, Oakland Police and Oakland Fire staff to develop a deeper understanding of the objectives of the CAD and RMS projects and the status of the work that has already taken place in the city’s data migration, provisioning and configuration efforts. Our project team has been involved in hundreds of similar projects and our subject matter experts know what is needed to contribute to the success of this project. In addition to technical services, FE will provide project management activities so that the tasks of both the vendor and the city are completed pursuant to the vendor’s contract.”

“The City of Oakland is in the process of replacing the existing Motorola Premier CAD and Law RMS (LRMS) applications with the Motorola PremierOneTM (P1) CAD and RMS packages and desires assistance in this effort,” said Andrew Peterson. “We need a firm that understands the technology, has personnel who have previously served in dispatch roles, has worked with other municipalities in implementing CAD systems, and appreciates the unique circumstances we operate under. Most importantly, we want a consultant that is not aligned with the vendor, and we can rely upon to serve as our trusted advisor. We worked with Federal Engineering over the past two years so the firm could develop an understanding of where we are and what we need. We are confident FE will serve us well as this project moves forward.”
