Airbus and Erillisverkot, the operator of Finland’s Virve public-safety network, signed an agreement for Airbus to provide Tactilon Agnet 800 mission-critical voice and messaging services for the Virve migration period from current TETRA technology to broadband services.

In the frame of the agreement, Airbus will provide a four-year software as a service (SaaS) for the broadband Virve push-to-talk (PTT) solution. The agreement includes Tactilon Agnet 800 licenses for all Virve subscribers.

“Tactilon Agnet 800 MC-PTT is the perfect solution for rapid acceleration into MC broadband; it brings seamlessly the full interoperability between current and broadband Virve and enables a rich ecosystem of mission-critical devices and accessories partnerships to meet the needs of various end users,” said Jari Mäkinen, account director Finland at Airbus Secure Land Communications.

Tactilon Agnet 800 is fully integrated into the Airbus TETRA system and broadband services. It is perfect for connecting people vital to an operation easily and securely, even when they are using different devices and technologies. In addition, Tactilon Agnet 800 can be provisioned from Airbus’ Tactilon Management solution and supports the existing integration to the command and control environment.

“We will start in 2022 our migration period when both Virve TETRA and Virve Broadband services will be available to our Finnish public-safety and corporate clients,” said Jarmo Vinkvist, chief operating officer (COO) Virve Network at Erillisverkot. “We see a lot of growth opportunities in prioritized broadband data subscriptions, but push-to-talk will be still the most important feature of our services.”
