Telex is pleased to introduce the IP-3000 series, the next generation of its industry-leading IP-based radio dispatch consoles. Since pioneeringthe first IP dispatch solutions in the early 2000s, Telex’s IP series console hardware and C-Soft software have progressively set the standard for user-friendliness, versatile RoIP/VoIP interoperability and robust reliability. This field-proven hardware/software combination takes an innovative step forward with the all-new IP-3000 series of “all-in-one” compact devices in which the console, software and direct IP interfaces are combined. This landmark product launch coincides with the 85th anniversary of the Telex brand.

Each IP-3000 model offers ergonomic comfort, fully customizable interfaces, backwards-compatibility with existing Telex equipment (including the renowned IP-224IP radio gateway), and easy-to-update software– all adding up to provide an optimal user experience while maximizing ROI.

Two form factors are available: the IP-3008 (eight lines) and IP-3018 (18 lines). Each is available in public safety, enterprise or standard configurations to suit the specific requirements of different dispatch verticals. Public safety and enterprise configurations are equipped with direct IP interfaces for interoperability with digital radio equipment, e.g. NEXEDGE®. Public safety-configured devices also offer encryption and compliance with the P25 suite of system standards. Standard configuration models connect to an external IP-224, making them a cost-effective choice for integration with existing Telex systems, and may be upgraded to public safety and enterprise configurations as needed. A two-channel IP-3002 model is also available in standard configuration (non-upgradeable), in the same form factor as the IP-3008.

New versions of C-Soft and Telex System Manager(TSM) offer enhanced layout design, GUI personalization and system management – all geared towards supporting simple menus and more streamlined workflows.

“The IP-3000 series expands our C-Soft offering beyond desktop PCs to include dedicated hardware devices,” says Telex Product Manager Larry Benedict. “These new consoles combine application-specific hardware designs with C-Soft and TSM software packages into integrated devices that are extremely intuitive to setup and configure for the end-user, and just as simple to service or update for the integrator, dealer or tech. Simplified management via TSM allows system administration, configuration and updates to be carried out remotely via IP as well as on-site, which can save on travel costs for technical support or service calls.Any C-Soft trained personnel will find it easy to make any of these adjustments, and dispatchers will be familiar with the look and feel of the GUI, helping to minimize the learning curve and maintain continuity of operations.”

Smooth hands-on functionality is ensured via the IP-3000’s best-in-class feature lineup. High-resolution TFT LCD 15:9 widescreen video displays (7” & 15.6”), reliable and responsive touchscreens, and high-quality speakers deliver an excellent audio-visual performance in any lighting conditions or working environment.

Each console is equipped with USB ports and an output for an external monitor. The units are easy to mount and positioning can be further adjusted using the optional adjustable incline mechanism. User I/Os include a handset with DTMF pad, a gooseneck microphone with illuminated PTT key, and six (IP-3002/IP-3008) or 16 (IP-3018) programmable and color-coded hot keys. Additional programmable keypads are available as options. The consoles come with a choice of handset or gooseneck microphone; headsets may also be used via an ADHB-4 (Advanced Digital Headset Box).

In addition to dispatchers, the upgraded UX also applies to system integrators/technicians and communications managers: “As with all Telex solutions, the IP-3000 series adds value by offering a high level of ‘future-proof’ system scalability and security features in step with the industry’s continuously changing standards and technologies,” adds Benedict. “It’s easy to expand the system or increase functionality as required by adding licenses, updating software and/or interconnecting multiple devices – including existing Telex equipment.”

The IP-3000 series will offer packet encryption, monitoring, user permissions, verification and third-party VPN for secure remote use. As well as being compatible with legacy Telex hardware, the series is interoperable with a wide range of industry technologies – including IPv6, upcoming Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC),SIP telephony, radio protocols, security enhancements and more.APIs enable seamless integration with other types of systems.

Telex is the leading manufacturer of IP control for two-way radio communications, with more installations worldwide than any other IP-based dispatch system. As part of the Bosch Group, Telex benefits from Bosch quality standards, state-of-the-art processes and a strong commitment to research and development.
