The NFL applied for a special temporary authority (STA) proposing the use of two 20-megahertz-wide channels at each NFL team’s stadium for proof-of-concept and interference testing of Part 96 Citizen’s Broadband Service (CBRS). The NFL plans to ultimately replace UHF-based communications systems, which enable coaches to communicate with other coaches and with players during televised NFL games, now in place in NFL stadiums.
