Sonim Technologies announced a partnership with Acuraflow to distribute Sonim ultra-rugged devices in Latin America. The partnership will provide field workers in public safety, oil and gas, mining, utilities, manufacturing, and other demanding work environments more ultra-rugged mobility options.

Compliance Testing of Mesa, Arizona, completed the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and DHS Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate’s (S&T) assessment process to add Project 25 (P25) Compliance Assessment Program (CAP) Inter-RF Sub-System Interface (ISSI) and Console Sub-System Interface (ISSI) equipment testing to its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 scope of accreditation.

Bittium received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for Bittium Tactical Power Pack products that are meant for powering tactical communication devices. The power devices will be used by the Finnish Defence Forces as accessories for the portable Bittium Tough Comnode devices.

The Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs signed a four year framework agreement with Motorola Solutions reseller Centrul Pentru Servicii de Radiocomunicatii SRL to provide public-safety organizations in Romania with up to 40,000 TETRA radios. As part of the framework agreement, Romanian police, border control, gendarmerie and other organizations can order new handheld and in-car radio communication solutions for frontline staff.

The radio interfaces that will be used in full-scale commercial deployment of fifth generation mobile communication networks have achieved global validation with the successful evaluation by ITU of three new technologies that conform with the International Mobile Telecommunications 2020 (IMT-2020) vision and stringent performance requirement.

TCCA and PMeV – Netzwerk Sichere Kommunikation (German Association and Network for Critical Communications) have agreed to cooperate on the development of a guide for connecting control rooms to mission-critical services (MCX) in 4G/5G networks. A number of international control center operators are also participating in this project.

British APCO (BAPCO) announced that its annual in-person conference will be delayed from March to October. In its place, the association will host a virtual event.

The municipality of Padova, Italy, deployed more than 300 Sepura SC20 radios for the city’s police force. These are the first Sepura radios to be deployed in the Padova region, with the radios being chosen to replace existing TETRA units after a successful user trial.

Erillisverkot, the Finnish state-run body responsible for national communications networks, for public authorities, emergency services and other critical services added Ericsson Security Manager to its Virve 2.0 5G core network public-safety network. The move is part of a mission-critical public safety partnership with Ericsson.
